Green Energy business boost comes to Teesside

August 9, 2010 12:44 PM

Redcar Liberal Democrat MP, Ian Swales is delighted to see that there is a new £200M project coming to Teesside which will create around 50 permanent jobs in the area. This new renewable, green energy facility helps to cement Teesside's role in the creation of a new green technology base.

Ian Swales commented on the news that this has been officially launched today, saying 'I welcome the news of more major investment in the local area, which brings with it the creation of more new jobs to Teesside. I have met with the representatives of this company and am convinced there will be no adverse effects on the community, it has been meticulously planned and thought through.''

''This is the next step in making Teesside a centre of green technology, building on the existing Wilton site this power generator project will reduce the countries reliance on imported oil and gas, which in turn makes this even more energy efficient for the UK.''

''Coming after the recent announcement of the biomass fuel at Teessport, this means that Teesside really can begin to build up its profile as a centre for green innovation.''
